I am a San Francisco artist who moved to the Bay Area in 1997 to attend the San Francisco Art Institute and have been showing professionally since 2003.
I work on wood panel with high gloss and matte finishes. Panel shapes vary from traditional squares, rectangles and circles to irregular and tessellating polygons. The shape of the panel informs the materials and style used, from taped angles and lines sharply spray painted on, to soft curves in both the shape of the panel and color fields. Color is the focus and the intersection of the craft of the object and the intention of the painting is the result.
Kelly works out of Norton Factory Studios in Oakland.
